Sarah and Cedric tied the knot on another one of our gorgeous days from last fall at Historic Tredegar along the James River in Richmond, Va. Sarah and her mom accomplished their goal of planning an intimate yet elegant wedding where their friends and families could share in the moment, while enjoying great food and even better music. This last part was Cedric’s one request for the wedding: to hire the always amazing, Richmond-based No BS Brass Band. Over my years of photographing in Richmond, I have participated (camera in hand) in a few New Orleans-style parades led by this 11-piece brass band and I’ve always loved what they call their “original East Coast modern funk” music. Well, Cedric made a good call and wedding guests danced the night away! Another sweet tidbit from this #RVA wedding was the cookie table, a Western Pennsylvania tradition according to which the couple’s families spend the weeks leading up to the wedding baking cookies to be presented on the cookie table. Sarah’s family baked over 100 dozen sweet goodies for guests to munch on and take home with them as favors, and I can definitely say that the Photoladylove household was pretty happy with this post-wedding late-night snack. Following are my favorites from the day: enjoy!
