I think all of the couples I have the fortune to work with are unique and I love that I get to tell each of their stories through my images. However, this couple is extra special. I’ve been blessed with 2 sisters, Ali and Sofia. They are my heart and I wish nothing more than for them to have lives filled with love and joy. Ali and I are six years apart and we have been there for each other throughout the years as we’ve fallen in and out of love, as we’ve helped each other mend broken hearts, as we’ve made life changes, big decisions, big steps and as we’ve lived what life has put in our paths. She has been my best friend forever and stood by me as I married my love a year and a half ago. Well, just over a year ago Ali met a boy, a really great guy, a really really special guy. One day I will meet Sofi’s boyfriends, but she’s not allowed to date for another year or so, so that’s a topic for a different blog post. This special guy that Ali met is Josh and, in the wink of an eye, Josh has become a part of our family. My sister is happy, that good happy, that all-encompassing, deep-in-her-soul happy and I know that Josh is the man who has nurtured that happiness and allowed for it to fully blossom. I’ve watched him, closely, looking to make sure he is a worthy companion. And, I have been thrilled to see that he and Ali are so well matched, so good for each other, such positive forces in each other’s lives. They are two strong, wonderful, worthy individuals who come together to make a stronger couple. I’m thrilled that my sister has found her person and that she has found that deep-in-her-soul happiness that true companionship helps bring. Ever since Ali told me she was engaged I’ve been trying to figure out a gift to celebrate this huge moment in her life. Well, I finally realized that the one thing I could do was freeze this moment for her and Josh in a super fun photo session in one of their favorite places. So, off we went to NYC’s Central Park, where Ali and Josh took me to their tried and true spots, the meadow where they play ball, the bench they like to daydream from, the row boats that have been on their like-to-do date list and that they had yet to check off. Following are my favorites from our session: enjoy!
