Matt + Ray | Los Angeles Flash Mob Wedding | Destination Wedding Photographer

I don’t even know where to start to describe Matt and Ray’s Glendale, Ca wedding. This awesome couple designed the most unique, funky and personal wedding I have had the pleasure to document to date. They created a trip for their guests that allowed each one to get a glimpse into Matt and Ray’s Los Angeles life, witness their emotional celebration of marriage and have a boat load of fun right along side them. To begin with, guests were separated into small groups and directed to meet up with their team leaders at different locations on the wedding day. Here, each guest was given a gift bag containing the clues to the 3 Acts that would make up the day (3 Acts, already…love).  First stop: everyone was to converge on the courtyard of the Museum of Neon Art for, wait for it…a flash mob wedding ceremony. Yes. The clue for Act I, i.e. the wedding ceremony? An LED hummingbird, a tribute to Matt’s passion for making gorgeous photos of these incredible little creatures as they visit him on Matt and Ray’s home balcony. So, of course, Act I would not have been complete without a hummingbird parade from the Museum of Neon Art, under the remade classic Clayton Plumbers sign, and on to Pacific Theatres. Before the parade, guests eagerly dug into their gift bags to retrieve the envelope for Act II containing…a movie ticket for Finding Dory! Hence Pacific Theatres. After the movie, guests opened the envelopes for Act III and found puzzle pieces and a new destination: Game Häus Cafe. Here, they spent the rest of the evening competing on old school board games, putting together special Matt and Ray puzzles and eating cake, the Mondrian cakes that Matt made. Amazing. And then there were the multiple gifts of custom cuff links Matt and Ray surprised each other with, the violinist Matt surprised Ray with during the ceremony, and the vows these two wrote for each other. Needless to say it was an honor and a blast to witness and document their day. Enjoy!
